Measuring pollution with colour
'Copper stripe is a simple tool that can provide us with information about the quality of the air around us. It uses the oxidation properties of copper as an indicator of the potential corrosiveness of the air in a certain environment.
Leave the copper stripe outdoors for a couple of weeks and bring it back to the platform to compare with the reference ring. Copper acquires a green patina in clean air and black patina in presence of polluted air.
